Samuel Durr lives with his wife, son and rescue boxer in the city of Chicago and teaches middle school English. His passions include writing, cooking and playing electric guitar. As a child he was exhilarated by movies like Ridley Scott’s Legend, John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China and Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal. Since then he has been fascinated with other-worldly settings and original plot lines. Samuel’s first novel The Yard juxtaposes desire and caution in a post-apocalyptic jungle overrun by terrifying insects and pays homage to all the work that inspired him.
