The Krelzyn Sagas The Bleak Land

The Krelzyn were on the losing side of a war between off planet groups, then were then exiled, after which their homeland became the Bleak Land. Joryn of Bjorno then competes and wins the King’s Cup sailboat race. Amarantha, the High Priestess of the Krelzyn, gains the secret of the Bleak Land from the ancient King’s cup trophy. Her husband Joryn then comes up with a plan.

I WAS BORN and grew up on the little island of Bjorno. I was a poor boy and could only look forward to a fisherman’s life. However, I’m a very good small boat sailor. In order to advance myself in the world, I undertook a dangerous and illegal voyage, from Bjorno, to a nearby island, called The Watchtower, in order to search for valuable Krelzyn artifacts. I found Krelzyn artifacts in The Watchtower and I also found quite a bit more. As a result of my adventures in The Watchtower, in a pinnacle rock in the ocean and in a boat race, I now have quite a bit of money and several profitable businesses on Bjorno. I am the Baron of Bjorno and also a Krelzyn Legend Warrior. I am now married to Amarantha, a High Priestess of the Krelzyn. Amarantha and I now live in our own house on Bjorno. Amarantha is a real beauty, but she still needs to learn how to cook. Amarantha took the King’s Cup, that I won in a famous boat race, into her hands. By doing so, she learned things of perhaps thousands of years ago. She learned how the Bleak Land, the former home of the Krelzyn, came to be the Bleak Land. Unfortunately, if those who created the Bleak Land learn that Amarantha knows how the Bleak Land was created and is still maintained, they will kill her. I lecture my wife, “The fact that the Bleak Land was created, is well known. How the Bleak Land was created is not well known. If you know how the Bleak Land was created, it may be that you can reverse the forces that created the Bleak Land. Those who created the Bleak Land may well try to kill you, to prevent you from reversing the forces. We must see that those who may want to kill you do not succeed.” Amarantha then lectures me, “Joryn, those who created the Bleak Land are far ahead of us, scientifically. We can’t stop them from doing what they want.” “Amarantha, I was the helmsman of the King’s Cup Race winning boat. I take some pride in being perhaps the best sailor on the planet. Why did one of the other competitors not use a powered racing boat, to defeat me in the race?” Amarantha thinks for a moment and then says, “Joryn, you are telling me that those powerful ones must play by some sort of rules?” “I had an adventure, with a Krelzyn Priestess, inside a pinnacle rock. She told me that the Krelzyn wanted to keep some strange metal boats. If the Krelzyn wanted to keep the metal boats, they would become involved in a war, between two alien peoples. The Krelzyn kept the metal boats and they did get involved in a war between the two alien peoples. Presumably one of the alien peoples then destroyed the Krelzyn homeland, by converting it into the Bleak Land.” “Joryn, you are telling me that the two alien forces are engaged in some sort of very limited warfare.” “Yes I am. Either side could, presumably rule this planet. However, the other side won’t let them.” “Joryn, I know how the Bleak Land became the Bleak Land and how it still remains the Bleak Land.” “The Bleak Land was once the verdant home of the Krelzyn. Then, a thousand years ago and more, the home of the Krelzyn was destroyed and became the Bleak Land. The destruction of the home of the Krelzyn was done by aliens. The Krelzyn were involved in an alien war. Obviously, the Krelzyn wound up on the losing side. The winning side still controls the old Krelzyn homeland and keeps it the Bleak Land. We need to talk to the alien losing side.” “I am a High Priestess of the Krelzyn. I know a method of talking with the losing side, but the method has not been used for many years.” “I have a plan.”
