ON A COLD, BRISK, wintry evening in the grounds of Alexander Nevsky Lavra Graveyard, a man dressed in cold weather gear was sitting on a headstone. In the year1521 and in the grounds of a creepy graveyard, Alexander sat there looking at the wintry landscape of the bitter offerings of Russia. Vasili Ivanovich had his troops on the hunt for more territories to conquer. Alexander Popenvich had come to this graveyard for a mission from the God of most high. He was staring at the headstone of Vladimir Offenich, a serial killer known in all of Russia. Am I going to bring a killer back from the dead to serve God? Is this the right thing to do? Who am I to question our creator? he thought to himself. Alex made up his mind to fulfill his orders from God.
Out of the ground, a personage of a huge man with a bald head and very long beard appeared from the depths of hell. Alex with his six-foot four frame, stood there in fear of this man. He stood close to seven feet tall and must have weighed over four hundred pounds when alive. It was time to break the ice and start a mission of epic proportions.
“Why have you summoned me from the depths of my eternal sentence for my sins committed against humanity?”
“You have been called from God to complete a mission that may take you several years.”
“What kind of mission?”
“In the history of the entire world, our Creator witnessed the murders of several of his creations. He decided to give you a second chance to redeem and atone for your sins against humanity. Your bones that remain in this grave are going to be put back with your spirit. You’re going to be given wings and the limited powers of a demigod.”
Just then, Alex ordered Vladimir to walk over to him. Alex put his hand on Vladimir’s shoulder. He froze in fear of what came to his vision. Vladimir saw the horrors of murders that he committed. The cries of the men, women and children flooded his hearing. On his last kill, a young demure girl looked him in the eyes pleading for her life as he slit her throat with a big knife. Blood gushed and shot towards Vladimir, which caused a horrified look to come over his face. In a split second, he found himself hanging from a rope. The sentence for his crimes was imposed by the prince himself. Vladimir heard the breaking of bones and sinew of his neck as he stood there shaking from the rope. Tears flew freely as he fell to his knees in extreme sadness.
“Why have you shown me this? It is like God is rubbing my nose in my sins. Besides what is in this mission for me if I choose to accept it?”
“Here are God’s plans. You will become an avenging angel toward all the serial killers in the history of the world. God created a spiritual realm called Olympus named after Greek Folklore. Each spirit you bring will be placed in a cell to face judgment with God. Men shall not judge. The judgment and vengeance is mine alone. God wants you to bring several killers of his choosing to face him and suffer the punishment for destroying his creations. I already know what you’re going to ask me, so I am going to answer it in advance. If you accept this mission then decide not to use your second chance, our Creator will destroy both your spirit and body from existence. You will follow all his instructions to the letter. If you complete the mission, God will grant you eternal life in his service.”
“Why me?”
“Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world. In the book of life, he watched you then noticed that you wanted to serve a purpose. Who are you or I to question anything from him.”
“How long will this take?”
“It may take several years but you will get your reward in the end. Do you choose this offering from God himself?”
“What do I have to lose?”
“If the answer is yes then we will proceed with our Creator wishes.”
“Then my answer is yes, Alex.”
Just then, Vladimir’s grave shook as if the ground breaths as a living entity. Dirt flew high in the air. A bolt of lightning hit the dirt, which made the dirt vanish before their eyes. The body of Vladimir Offenich lay before them. A booming huge voice came from the heavens.
“You are commanded to serve me. Listen to every detail. Anything spoken by Alex is from me.”
Both Vladimir and Alex fell to their knees in reverence to God. Alex stood there with the ends of his blond hair frozen. His blue eyes could pierce the very soul of any person that chose to follow him. Vladimir had a look of fear in his eyes. His body turned from a rotting skeletal corpse to a man with blood, sinew and perfection. The sculpted muscles he had once in life returned. The scars of being beaten and whipped in the mines of Russia all vanished. The body got up then stood before Vladimir. His mouth opened very wide in what the hell is happening on his face.
“Go and walk into your body as commanded by God!”
Vladimir looked face to face with his body then walked into it. Suddenly, wings appeared on his back. He flexed his seven-foot muscles head to toe. Vladimir felt strong as an ox. A golden aura appeared all around his body.
“Are you ready for your first mission?”
“We might as well break the ice, Alex.”
